Aerosmith fans may soon be hearing more songs from their archives.
Last year the band celebrated their 50th anniversary by releasing “1971: The Road Starts Here,” which featured early demos and recordings from rehearsals, and now Joe Perry says there’s more where that came from.
Joe says the stuff on “The Road Starts Here” “sounded so good” it made him want to listen to more of their old stuff, noting they have “so much” music that they decided not to use for some reason, like alternative takes of songs and such. He also says they have live recordings of all their shows since the 80s, and they may look to releasing something old instead of recording something new.
"We have show upon show," he says. "There's just so much material there, so much video, and we're finding so much more."
He adds, they are "looking over the next two or three years at releasing this stuff, decade by decade in different formats," sharing, "There's a lot of stuff there. At the same time, we're still out there touring, so it's not like we're just going to sit back and curate our museum, so to speak. It's part of our history, but we're still going out there and doing it."
