Kara McKee, the 37 year old daughter of Rhode Island Governor Dan McKee, was featured on "The Voice" on NBC Tuesday night and managed to land a spot on John Legend's team in the singing competition. Kara sang Joni Mitchell's "Woodstock," and earned an emphatic turnaround from judge John Legend. Although she heard pitched from more than one judge, Kara ultimately decided to choose Legend as her mentor and now goes onto the next level of competition.
The seasoned Rhode Island singer/guitarist and songwriter had been auditioning for the show for ten years. Her persistence certainly paid off!
