John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band recently celebrated 50 years together. B101's Jeff Stevens, host of the "80s Show" (Saturdays 7pm--midnight) talked with John about the band's amazing journey over a half century. Listen to the podcast below.
In 1983, Rhode Island's own John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band were propelled to international stardom when they performed the soundtrack to the movie "Eddie and the Cruisers." With hits like "On the Dark Side" and "Tender Years," the band went from playing in seaside New England bars to playing before a huge TV audience on "American Band Stand" and "Solid Gold" almost overnight.
John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band continue to tour today and can be seen all over the northeast, including great venues around Rhode Island. The band was inducted into the Rhode Island Music Hall of Fame in 2012.
