The Most Romantic Movie Ever Shot in Rhode Island

If you have ever been to a wedding or event at Aldrich Mansion in Warwick, you have probably marveled at the beautiful setting and architecture of the home build in 1899. One of the most romantic movies of the late 1990's, "Meet Joe Black," was filmed extensively at the mansion. In fact, the 1998 production was somewhat unpopular with Warwick residents due to the fact that it caused road closures and boating restrictions. And while it's always nice to see fireworks over Narragansett Bay, most people didn't appreciate the fact that they were filmed after midnight and woke up residents for miles around.

Brad Pitt and Claire Forlani have amazing chemistry and Anthony Hopkins is at his usual best in this underrated flick, which was based on "Death Takes a Holiday," a film from the 1930's which starred Frederick March, one of the biggest stars of the era.

If you have been to Aldrich Mansion, but haven't seen the movie, it's definitely worth a watch. Check out the trailer:
