He said it, and now it’s happening. Roger Waters recently shocked the music world by revealing he had recorded Pink Floyd’s classic album “Dark Side Of The Moon”… all by himself.
Amidst a huge public battle with bandmate David Gilmour and having shows cancelled for alleged anti-Semitism, Waters has released the first teaser for his solo “Dark Side…” effort. On Twitter, the rock dropped a clip of his new version of “Us And Them,” the epic track from late in the original album.
Check out the new version in the video below, along with the original version.
Waters calls his new solo work of Pink Floyd’s music a “tribute to the original work, but also to re-address the political and emotional message of the whole album.” And though he’s exchanged intense words with some of his band, he insists the material “is a way for me to honor a recording that Nick (Mason), Rick (Wright) and Dave (Gilmour) and I have every right to be proud of.”
