The coyotes you've been hearing about in the Oakland Beach area of Warwick are pretty interesting for a couple of reasons. First, they are black, which is fairly rare and is usually seen at higher elevations. Second, they are very comfortable in the neighborhood and haven't been spooked easily and are even approaching cars. They have even been attracting visitors to the Oakland Beach neighborhood, which hasn't seemed to scare them off.
A reminder from Warwick Animal Control and the RI DEM: Please do not feed coyotes, or ANY wild animals, as it tends to attract them more often and disturb their normal hunting and feeding habits.
