It's official! Rhode Island officially hit 90 degrees for the first time this year on Thursday afternoon (9/07). It is the second-latest date that the state ever hit 90. As noted in the graphic and Tweet from Storm Team 10 meteorologist Anthony Macari, the latest we ever hit that mark was on September 15th in1912.
Odds are, most of us have already experienced temperatures of 90+ this year, especially in Providence and inland Rhode Island. However, the official temperature, which is recorded at TF Green Airport, hasn't risen above 89 until today.
With similar temperatures in the forecast for Friday, we may have a repeat performance on Friday (9/08). Stay Cool!
