Even legends get tired of singing some of their most in-demand songs every now and then. But charity seemed to be a good enough reason for one rock great to dust off a classic.
Robert Plant recently performed “Stairway To Heaven” for the first time in 16 years over the weekend in the UK. Duran Duran’s Andy Taylor hosted “An Evening With Andy Taylor And Special Guests” to raise funds for the Cancer Awareness Trust. Taylor himself is a cancer survivor who was first diagnosed with stage four prostate cancer in 2018.
The 75-year-old Led Zeppelin singer took to the stage to perform the iconic power ballad for the first time since the band’s 2007 one-time reunion. But it doesn’t seem like Plant, who still tours with Allison Krauss, has let time wear him down.
