So get this, an Philadelphia Flyer's mascot, Gritty, is being accused of assaulting a 13 year old fan. Apparently the incident happened during a November photo shoot with fans and the mascot at the Wells Fargo Center.
The boys father claims what was supposed to be a fun experience for the season ticket holders, turned into a hospital visit and a few trips to a chiropractor after the boy patted the mascot on the head and the mascot responded by taking a running start and punching the child in the back.
According to Today.com a police spokesperson said the investigation is "active and on going" but no charges have been pressed as of yet.
