Those of us who watch the T.V. show Shark Tank know that the Ring Doorbell system might have been the biggest miss in the shows history. I mean, who wouldn't want to be able to see what is happening at their home when they aren't home. Clearly, nobody because over the years the company has become a behemoth and an expert at making money. However it looks like that latest rollout has some bugs that can cause fires!
A recall notice released by the Consumer Product Safety Commission says that the second generation of the Ring Video Doorbell, model number 5UM5E5, is being recalled because the "video doorbell’s battery can overheat when the incorrect screws are used for installation, posing fire and burn hazards."
Not a great look. However the company has been very forth coming allowing consumers a wide variety of options to best suit their needs while they handle the recall.
