Today is national cookie day, so I figured I would pass along my favorite cookie recipe!
It take about 30 min total, from mixing it all up and baking so it really is super easy if you're looking for a quick treat over the weekend.
Ingredients
- 1 cup salted butter*softened
- 1/2 cup white (granulated) sugar
- 1/2 cup dark brown sugar packed
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 1 large eggs
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp sea salt***
- 2 cups chocolate chips (or chunks, or chopped chocolate)
- Optional walnuts!
It's pretty easy, so to start preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
While that's preheating I mix all the dry ingredients in one bowl, wet in another then sift in the dry to the wet. When it's combined and not lumpy I toss in some chocolate chips and walnuts and call it a day.
Now I like my cookies BIG and soft so I normally only bake them for about 10 min and I pull them out once I start to see light browning around the cookie edges!
It seems to make them sturdy yet gooey in the center which I am all about.
So there you go!
I hope you enjoy and happy National Cookie Day!
