We’re convinced that as a society we are losing our minds. Today we read about a preschool in Massachusetts that has banned its students from using the term “best friends.” I know…right? Ridiculous! The handbook of the Pentucket Workshop Preschool in Georgetown, MA doesn’t contain any rules or regulations about using the term, however a teacher at the school told a 4 year old girl named Julia that she was not to refer to any other student there as her “best friend.” Julia’s mom was very upset and questioned the new policy. She was told by the school’s director that they’d done research (yeah right) and they’d found that term was hurtful to some and lead to “cliques” and “outsiders.” Remember, these are 4 year old children. Get a grip! Can we back up the crazy train just a little?
