BOSTON (24/7 NewsSource/WBZ-AM) -- Some Red Sox players thought what happened last night at Fenway Park was "kind of cool," but if you ask the Tigers, they would strongly disagree.

In the seventh inning of last night's game, Sox fans started spontaneously turning on their cell phone lights all around the stadium.  Tigers batters weren't happy with the distraction, and manager Ron Gardenhire successfully appealed to the umpires to have the lights snuffed out. The Tigers were up in the seventh, but after the phones brought the game to a halt and security

When asked about the situation after the game, Boston manager Alex Cora called it an additional weapon to their home field advantage. Sox star Andrew Benintendi echoed those comments when he was asked by NESN about the phone incident after the game.

"I saw it kind of escalating a little bit, but it was kind of cool to see," Benintendi said. "I thought it looked kind of cool from center field, but I can see why or how it would be distracting."
