Peter Tork, the bass player from the 1960s band and TV show The Monkees, passed away yesterday at the age of 77. No cause of death was given by his sister Anne when she made the announcement to the press. He did suffer from a rare mouth cancer back in 2009, but no word if that illness was related to his death. I spent many an afternoon in the 70s watching re-runs of The Monkees on TV, it was one of my favorite shows back then! R.I.P. Peter.
