Sadly, pets are often left behind when people evacuate during a hurricane. This woman in the Bahamas has taken in 97 homeless dogs to wait out Hurricane Dorian! Chella Phillips of Nassau, New Providence shared pictures of her doggo filled home, and said she had 79 pups hanging out in the bedroom with her! She posted pics along with the comment, "My bedroom is nothing but a pile of dogs." Considering the devastation that the Category 5 storm unleashed on the islands, these animals most likely would have died outside weathering the storm. Chella has been saving dogs in the Bahamas for years, she puts the number at around 1000! She hopes to build a larger space for the dogs once the storm has moved on. What an angel!
