Three Rhode Islanders are going to compete on the new season of Survivor! Remember Olympian Elizabeth Beisel? She's from Saunderstown, and she's one of the new contestants. I'm assuming she'll win any swimming challenges. The cast also includes 36 year old Aaron Meredith, who's a father and a gym owner. He's originally from Uncasville, CT but now lives in Warwick. And last but not least, Jamal Shipman, a 33-year-old college administrator from Providence, is also among the 20 castaways. Season 39 of “Survivor: Island of the Idols,” premieres Wednesday, Sept. 25th on CBS. Who will you root for?
That show's been on since 2000...and a Rhode Islander won that first season...Richard Hatch! Although we'd kinda like to forget about him, remember he went to jail for tax evasion.
