Covid Sniffing Dogs To Screen Fans at NBA Games!

Did you know there are dogs that can detect the Coronavirus by smelling human sweat? I know there are dogs that are trained to detect cancer and other diseases, but I didn't realize they're are already Coronavirus sniffing dogs. According to The Guardian, they're already being used at some airports, including in Helsinki, Finland. They spoke with Anna Hielm-Björkman from the University of Helsinki, who is working with some of these dogs. She says they are "able to identify the virus with nearly 100% accuracy, even days before before a patient developed symptoms." Read more of that article HERE.

And now some of these Covid detecting pups will be dispatched at American Airlines Arena in Miami to smell Heat fans as they arrive for the games.

According to their website, everyone entering the stadium will be required to either be screened by the dogs, or opt for an alternate screening method that they say could take as long as 45 minutes. If even one person in your group is singled out by a dog as sniffing positive for the virus, no one in your party will be allowed into the arena. This entry procedure will also be used in Los Angeles at Clippers games. I wonder if they'll employ these dogs at the Super Bowl too!
