New Owner Plans To Re-Open Toys R Us Stores!

So many stores have come and gone over the years it's nice to hear that one is coming back soon! After years with no annual profit, Toys R Us filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2017. Struggling to compete with Walmart and online retailers like Amazon, Toys R Us finally closed all it's stores in the Summer of 2018. In 2019 the company came out of bankruptcy under a new name Tru Kids. WHP Global has since bought a controlling stake in Tru Kids and says they will revive the brand Toys R Us. The company's plan is to have brick and mortar stores open in North America just in time for the holiday season at the end of this year!

Toys have been selling like crazy during the pandemic, and although toys are available at lots of other chain stores, people really seem to miss that Toys R Us experience. Guess we all "Wanna be a Toys R Us kid!"
