Of all the incarnations of the "CSI" franchise, the original show was my favorite. Well CBS announced that a series sequel is in the works!
"CSI: Vegas" will see the return of some popular characters, and the arrival of several new faces. Fan favorite William Peterson will be back as forensic entomologist Dr. Gil Grissom, and Jorja Fox will reprise her role as crime scene investigator Sara Sidle. Also returning is Wallace Langham, to star again as lab tech David Hodges.
The original series debuted in the Fall of 2000 and ran for 15 seasons. Peterson left the show after 9 seasons and would return periodically as a guest star.
The new series will head back to the Sin City crime lab, where some new faces will join the team including Paula Newsome, Matt Lauria, Mel Rodriguez and Mandeep Dhillon.
We can expect "CSI: Vegas" to debut sometime in late 2021 or early 2022.
