We've waited almost 30 years for a sequel to much beloved movie Hocus Pocus. Back in May, Disney announced that Hocus Pocus 2 was officially a go, and now we hear they might be filming some scenes here in Rhode Island! Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy will be back as the Sanderson Sisters, and production on the movie is set to begin this Fall.
The plot will center on a teen and wannabe witch named Becca. Becca visits the local magic shop, which just so happened to be The Sanderson Sisters’ old house. While there, Becca finds the dark flame candle, and accidentally brings the sisters back to wreak havoc on the town of Salem, Massachusetts.
According to the DisInsider blog filming locations for the movie, which has the working title 'Candles,' include Los Angeles, Connecticut and Rhode Island. The blog also revealed that filming will start on October 5th, and the movie is expected to make it's debut on Disney Plus in the Fall of 2022.
