I can't wait to binge watch this new series on Netflix when it comes out. Tim Burton make his TV directorial debut with a new eight episode series based on the Addams Family called "Wednesday Addams," and more of the cast members have been revealed. Actress Jenna Ortega, who you might know from the show "Jane the Virgin" also the thriller series "You" on Netflix, will play the title role of Addams daughter Wednesday. It was just announced that Academy Award winner Catherine Zeta-Jones will play her mother Morticia Addams, and Luiz Guzman steps in as Gomez.
Wednesday finds her inner Nancy Drew in this series which is being described as "a sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery charting Wednesday Addams’ years as a student at Nevermore Academy." Reportedly she'll use her psychic powers to solve mysteries.
The Addams family started off as a comic strip back in 1938, and over the years there have been several adaptations of the The Addams Family including a TV series, several movies and a fun Broadway musical too. Now this new Netflix series is in the works and I'm really looking forward to it! Production has yet to begin on this new show, so it could be a while before we see it. We'll keep you posted!
