The other day I was driving by the old Toys “R” Us store in Warwick. It's so sad to see it sitting there empty with no kids running around looking at toys. Well good news for all you Toys "R" Us kids, they're gonna open stores inside Macy's stores next year!
Back in March of 2018 the toy company filing for bankruptcy, then they closed for good in June of that year. Toys R Us attempted a come back in 2020 but it sounds like the pandemic put the brakes on that, but this week they announce that they are going to team up with Macy’s department stores. They say they plan to open Toys “R” Us shops inside 400 Macy stores across the United States in 2022! I think this is a win/win for both brands. From what I hear, Macy's already sells some toys and says sales of those went way up during the pandemic, so this should be a successful partnership!
Although the brick and mortar options won't be available for this holiday season, you can always shop their huge selection of toys on their website!
