A couple of Tom Cruise movies have been delayed again! The original "Top Gun" came out in 1986, so fans have already been waiting a long time for a sequel. Well get ready for another delay for “Top Gun: Maverick!”
Originally “Maverick” was set to jet into theaters last Summer, but then it was delayed until the Winter of 2020. The premiere date was moved again to August 2021, and yet again to November 2021. Well I'm sorry to say the release date has been delayed by another 6 months! Now the movie is scheduled to open for the Memorial Day weekend on May 27th, 2022!.
And if that date holds it'll be a big Summer for Tom Cruise because his big budget “Mission: Impossible 7” will be released on September 30th. That film has had major production delays because of the Covid 19 pandemic. In fact Paramount is pretty upset about all those delays and the fact that their insurance company won't cover the cost of them, so they're suing the insurance company.
Tom Cruise has to be beside himself with all these delays, he's sunk a lot of his own money into ensuring a safe filming environment for the cast and crew of "MI-7." I'm sure no one is more frustrated by this news than him.
