Heinz has a new product that is truly “out of this world!” Introducing Heinz Tomato Ketchup Marz Edition.
The condiment company has teamed up with the Aldrin Space Institute at Florida Tech and have employed fourteen astrobiologists to study how to grow food under harsh conditions. The researchers recreated as best they could the environment of the Red Planet including soil conditions, temperature and water quality. In that special soil they planted the patented Heinz brand seeds that they use to grow the tomatoes for their ketchup to make this special new variety. It was unveiled at Heinz headquarters in new packaging, but unfortunately is not for sale. Hopefully someday we'll get to sample some. Hey Matt Damon grew potatoes on Mars in the movie "The Martian." The astronauts only use Heinz Tomato Ketchup brand while they’re in orbit on the International Space Station (ISS), and they have for the past several years.
