You may catch sight of the Sanderson Sisters this week in Newport, because Hocus Pocus 2 is filming in and around the city through November 17th. Because of that you can expect some detours downtown.
The city posted a traffic notice on their website that says: “Due to an upcoming event spanning several days in Washington Square, traffic and parking patterns will be shifting during that time period. More specifically, Washington Square and Touro St will be closed from 7am Monday, November 8th - 7 a.m. Thursday, November 11th; 7 a.m. Friday, November 12th- 7 a.m. Saturday, November 13th; and 7 a.m. Monday November 15th- 7 a.m. Wednesday November 17th.During these time periods, the surrounding streets of Duke, Charles and Clarke will be open to local traffic only. Further more, there will be various No Parking signs in this area at these times. Please abide. Thank you for your patience and cooperation!” Reportedly most of the filming will be done at night.
Sets and props can be seen around Newport's Eisenhower Park, as it’s been decorated for a Halloween themed celebration called "Salem Scare Fest" for the movie. Hopefully this week fans will get a glimpse of Sara Jessica Parker, Bette Midler, and Kathy Nijamy!
