The Post Office Expects to Deliver Over 12B Items This Holiday Season!

If you’re planning on sending gifts to family and friends in other states this holiday season,you should probably get them in the mail as soon as possible because the Post Office says they’re going to be processing a lot of mail this year.

They estimate that between packages and Christmas cards they’ll be delivering over 12 billion various items over the next month and a half.

The USPS expects to deliver around 850- and 950-million packages from Thanksgiving through New Year’s Day. And that’s just the post office...imagine how many packages are going here and there and everywhere with UPS and Fed Exetc!

When you figure in all the Christmas cards and letters to Santa people will be sending out, the Post Office figures they’ll be delivering over 12 billion itemsthis holiday season. 

They expect December 13th through the 18th to be the busies week when it comes todelivery, so plan ahead. 

Here are some deadlines to keep in mind(not including Hawaii and Alaska):

December 15th — USPS Retail Ground service

December 17th — First-Class Mail service (including greeting cards)

December 17th — First-Class packages (up to 15.99 ounces)

December 18th — Priority Mail service

December 23rd — Priority Mail Express service
