The new movie Ghostbusters: Afterlife hits theaters this weekend, and to celebrate, Coca-Cola is resurrecting an old favorite. For a limited time, ghost hunters can rehydrate with the iconic Hi-C Ecto Cooler!
Known as “Slimer’s Drink,” the classic Hi-C Ecto Cooler came out in 1989 to promote the movie Ghostbusters II. The 10% fruit juice drink is a blend of tangerine and orange flavors with a little ghostly ectoplasm aka slime mixed in. Mmm...slime. The old Hi-C Ecto Cooler came in convenient juice boxes and cans, but now for the first time ever it comes in a 12-oz bottle.
Unfortunately, most of the general public won’t get to enjoy the old school drink, as this promotional product won’t be available for purchase, but the company says if you show them some love on their socials @DrinkHiC you might get slimed...whatever that means. Yesterday Ghostbusters: Afterlife star McKenna Grace showed off a bottle of Hi-C Ecto Cooler while on the red carpet at the film’s premiere. What's the point if you can't buy it?!
