Sir Elton John and Ed Sheeran have recorded a brand new holiday tune called "Merry Christmas!" Sheeran told Jimmy Fallon last month that they actually recorded three songs, and he said they’ve gone crazy with the “sleigh bells, ding-dongs, the works.”
“Merry Christmas” is already on its way to becoming a Christmas favorite, soaring to Number 1 on the charts over in the United Kingdom. The song is one of the tracks on the Christmas version of Sheeran's new album “=,”and it’s on Elton’s “The Lockdown Sessions” as well.
And Ed said he almost killed Sir Elton with a bell while they were filming the music video for “Merry Christmas.” In an interview with Zane Lowe of Apple Music he said, "We just shot a Christmas music video. Oh, mate. I almost killed him with a bell. On the video, there's footage of... I'm dressed up as sort of sexy Santa Claus and I kick a present, but the present had a big metal bell on top of it. I showed him the footage of it today, because we slowed it down and the bell flew past his head and would've cracked him in the head." Check out the video below!
