Some "TikTok" stars are making more than America's top CEOs. Charli D'Amelio is a prime example, as she brought in $17.5 million last year. This brought her in as the highest-earning TikTok star of 2021. She has 133 million followers on the platform, and makes money from both a clothing line and promotion products in her vids and other ads.
To compare, the median pay in 2020 for chief exec of S&P 500 companies was $13.4 million in 2020. For instance, Exxon Mobil’s Darren Woods made $15.6 million in 2020, Starbucks’s Kevin Johnson made $14.7 million, Delta Air Lines's Ed Bastian made $13.1 million, and McDonald’s Chris Kempczinski made $10.8 million. Some do make more, as Robert Kotick,founder of Activision-Blizzard, earned about $155 million and Apple CEO Tim Cook earned about $99 million.
Charli's older sister, Dixie D’Amelio, is also up there, as she was the second-highest TikTok earner last year. She brought in $10 million, which rivals the pay of Gary Kelly ,CEO of Southwest Airlines. Another TikToker who earned big bucks is Addison Rae, who got $8.5 million last year. Her earnings are higher than W Craig Jelinek, Costco CEO....Notice my name doesn't appear on this list anywhere?
