Some lucky people were treated to an impromptu performance by Bill Murray in New York City yesterday to promote his new movie! On Wednesday, the71-year-old actor and comedian performed with some musicians for a concert in Washington Square Park.
Murray sang a few songs including the tunes “It Ain’t Necessarily So” and “I Feel Pretty” backed by cellist Jan Vogler, violinist Mira Wang, and pianist Vanessa Perez, who are all in the new documentary "New Worlds" with Bill. “New Worlds: The Cradle of Civilization" follows Bill Murray’s performance at Athens’ Acropolis in Greece.
Among the audience members yesterday was Karen Duffy, who is one of the producers of “New Worlds.” The documentary premieres at the Village Easton on Groundhog Day (of course...this is Bill Murray after all) February 2nd!
Yesterday Bill also recited some poetry! He read beat poet Lawrence Ferlinghetti’s poem “Dog.” The only thing missing was the beret! Fans had their phones at the ready and one Instagram user @bigcmayer recorded the performance and shared it. Check it out!
