Six Magazines Will Go Digital Only This Spring!

Oh no! What will we have to read in the doctor’s office? Six magazines are about to go digital-only starting this Spring! In April, Entertainment Weekly, InStyle, Health, EatingWell, Parents and People en Español are nixing the print editions and going exclusively online!

In October IAC/Interactive Corp paid $2.7 billion for the magazine publishing department of Meredith Corporation. The company’s CED Neil Vogel sent a memo to staff that read, "It is not news to anyone that there has been a pronounced shift in readership and advertising from print to digital, and as a result, for a few important brands, print is no longer serving the brand’s core purpose."

IAC also now owns People, Better Homes & Gardens, Southern Living and Food & Wine, and they say those five will continue to release printed editions of their magazines.

You really don’t see magazines in hair salons and doctor’s offices anymore anyway, they were pulled out of waiting rooms during the pandemic because nobody wanted to touch them. Everyone is reading news and articles on their phones these days, so I guess the change makes sense.
