The Oscar winning movie “An Officer and a Gentleman” has been made into a musical and the show is at the Providence Performing Arts Center this weekend only, tomorrow through Sunday. And you can still get tickets for this incredible show. There are so many cool 80s songs in this show:

The show has a special connection to Newport, RI. The director and choreographer visited the Officer Candidates School at the Newport Naval Base as part of their research for the production of the show. And I hear one of the swing performers in the show Logan Marks is a local guy. He was born in Providence and grew up in my hometown Mansfield.
