People Can't Get By without their Cell Phones!

Is your smartphone always in your hand or within arm’s reach? It’s pretty common these days for us to never be without our phones and a new survey reveals just how dependent on them we’ve become.

According to the poll of 2-thousand smartphone users, six in ten people “couldn’t cope” with being separated from their cell for more than a day. They rely on it for pretty much everything!

  • 68% use their phones to take photos, 64% use it to check the time and 62% constantly use it to check the weather forecast.
  • Just over a quarter (27%) of respondents depend solely on their phones for directions and one in three have NEVER used a paper map before.
  • Another 13% admit they can’t even find their way to work without the map on their phone.

And because they use their phones for so much, people are always looking for a place to charge them, their stress levels jump!

  • More than half (55%) of respondents consider running out of battery power to be a “nightmare scenario.”

One in eight say a dying battery actually gives them anxiety.

Survey also shows-

  • The average respondent spends two full hours looking at their phone screen during a 24-hour period.
  • They also check their phone an average of 20 times a day.
  • Nearly half (48%) of those polled say that losing their phone would be very upsetting, which is more than those who would stress over losing their bank card (46%) their car keys (40%) or even their wedding ring (25%).
