After accusations of a toxic work culture a few years ago by former employees of The Ellen DeGeneres show, it sounds like Ellen is going out of her way to help change that perception.
The talk show host announced that her show will end on May 26th after 19 seasons. Now there’s word that she’ll make sure her staffers have enough cash to tide them over until their next gig. Reportedly she’s giving staffers “millions of dollars” in bonuses. Many of them have been loyal employees for more than a decade, so she wants to make sure they are treated right. She and Warner Bros. are giving them access to networking workshops and help with resume building, plus the company is going to continue their health insurance for another 6 months after the show ends.
We can expect some big names to stop by The Ellen DeGeneres Show in the final few weeks. Former first lady Michelle Obama, David Letterman, Zac Efron, and Ellen’s wife, Portia de Rossi, will all be guests on the show.
