I’ve been savoring every episode of Season 2 of “Bridgerton” this past week, only watching an episode maybe two a day so I don’t blaze through it too fast. There are only eight episodes and I’ve got one left so I’m trying to avoid spoilers. There’s good news for fans today...the show will be around for at least a couple more seasons. The popular period drama has been renewed for a third and fourth season!
“Bridgerton” is based on the series of eight books written by Julia Quinn, and Executive Producers Shonda Rhimes and Chris Van Dusen have said they may get "creative" with the book series. That could mean that they plan to deviate from the order followed in the books. Van Dusen said, “We did a lot of work in these first two seasons as far as setting up Penelope and Colin's love story. There's so much yearning and so much angst there that it's going to be really satisfying when the show gets to really focus on the two of them.” So maybe “getting creative” means jumping ahead to focus on their romance which happens in Book 4.
And word is production on Season 3 is set to begin this Summer!.
