Rhode Island & Massachusetts Singers Eliminated from American Song Contest

Both Rhode Island and Massachusetts didn’t make the cut on NBC's "American Song Contest." Hueston, a musician from North Kingstown, Rhode Island, and singer Jared Lee, who hails from Brookline, MA, were both eliminated last night after performing in the first round of semi-finals on April 25th. Neither one received enough votes from fans of the show.

This news is surprising since Hueston was such a big hit with the jury, which advanced him automatically to the semifinals after his performance on week one of the competition. Following news of his elimination Hueson tweeted, "Well let’s just forget that I was ever on that show lol."

The five acts from the first semifinal who will move on to the Grand Final next Monday are the contestants from Washington state, Oklahoma, Colorado, Kentucky and Alabama.

There is good news for fans in Connecticut, your contestant Michael Bolton is still in the running! He and ten others performed in last night’s semi-finals. Five contestants from that episode will be chosen for the Grand Final from fan votes combined with votes from the show's jury. Be sure to cast your votes HERE!

Ten finalists will then perform on the live Grand Final next Monday, May 9th.  Read more HERE!
