The long-awaited Top Gun: Maverick is in theaters starting today, and Tom Cruise has been promoting the heck out of it. He stopped by The Late Late Show on Monday night and took host James Corden out for a ride! Well actually two.
The actor/pilot flew Corden in a few different planes out in the desert, one was an old school prop plane the other a fighter jet. Cruise even flew upside down and Corden looked thrilled yet freaked out at the same time.
Rather than the usual Carpool Karaoke where Corden is in the driver’s seat, since Cruise was the pilot and they sang the megahit “Danger Zone,” which was not only in the original “Top Gun” movie, it is also in the new film.
Cruise said, “I’m very excited that James is doing this. Was he the first late-night show that I asked? Hell, no. He was just the first one — and the only one — who said yes.”
