Johnny Depp Might let Amber Heard off The Hook

Johnny Depp won his defamation lawsuit against Amber Heard. As you probably know, she was ordered to pay him $10.4 million. Her attorneys said she wasn’t able to pay. Now it looks like she might now have to.

Benjamin Chew (one of Johnny's attorneys) appeared on “Good Morning America” yesterday. George Stephanopoulos asked whether Johnny would agree to a settlement where Amber agrees not to appeal the case in return for him waiving monetary damages. “We obviously can't disclose any attorney-client communications, but as Mr. Depp testified and as we both made clear in our respective closings, this was never about money for Mr. Depp,” Benjamin said. “This was about restoring his reputation, and he's done that.”

In addition to the monetary damage waiver, the settlement agreement could include removing some of the defamation claims from the verdict or reducing or eliminating the damages they owe each other.
