Farewell Internet Explorer: Microsoft Finally Retired the Old Browser

If you’re still searching the web with Internet Explorer, and apparently millions of people still do, you’re gonna disappointed by this news. Yesterday Microsoft announced that it’s not going to support the ancient browser any longer.

Microsoft released the very first version of Internet Explorer back in 1995, and it was replaced by Microsoft Edge in 2015. A lot of companies have yet to upgrade and still use the old software.

Microsoft thinks it’s finally time for folks to move on. Sean Lyndersay, general manager of Microsoft Edge Enterprise, wrote in a May 2021 blog post, “Not only is Microsoft Edge a faster, more secure and more modern browsing experience than Internet Explorer, but it is also able to address a key concern: compatibility for older, legacy websites and applications.”

Is there an outdated tech product that you still hang on to? I still have a VCR and tons of video tapes! Sometimes it's fun to have a retro night!
