Gas Station Manager Fired for Selling Gas at 69 Cents a Gallon

Some motorists got a great deal on gasoline, and the manager of a gas station is out of a job. I guess he made a mistake...a big one.

John Szczecina, the manager of a Shell gas station in Rancho Cordova, California, was typing in prices for fuel last Thursday, when he accidentally put the decimal point in the wrong place. The price was supposed to be six-dollars, 99-cents per gallon, but his error meant that gas was selling for only 69-cents per gallon!

That was a very costly mistake as the problem took three hours to correct, and in the meantime, people were telling all their friends and family on social media about the great deal. In the end it cost the gas station 16 thousand dollars, so the manager was fired.

His family started a GoFundMe account, and they hope to raise the $16,000 to pay back the gas station.
