Queen guitarist ,Brian May, just got another honor. The artist receive an honorary degree from the University Of Hull at a ceremony yesterday. While he wasn’t in attendance, he was awarded a Doctor Of Science, honoris causa via video link.
"We are absolutely delighted to be able to honor such a famed and accomplished musician and passionate astrophysicist,” Professor Brad Gibson, head of the university's Department of Physics & Mathematics and director of the E.A. Milne Centre For Astrophysics, said. “Dr. Brian May's commitment to astrophysics throughout his successful career in QUEEN is certainly something to be admired and, indeed, recognized.”
Of course, May already earned a pretty prestigious degree on his own. In 2007 he earned his PhD from the Imperial College of London, and is a doctor of astrophysics. So I guess we really can call him Doctor May!
