I’ve always wanted to go on a cruise, it’s definitely on my bucket list. Right now is a great time to take a cruise because they’re trying to get people back on the ships and many are offering great low rates.
On July 20th, the CDC issued some new Covid 19 guidelines regarding cruises, saying they should think about making testing mandatory, and they "highly" recommend Covid testing within one day of departure. However, some cruise lines, including Carnival and Royal Caribbean, are relaxing their COVID protocols.
Carnival says beginning this Thursday, August 4th, they will no longer require pre-cruise testing as long as a person is vaccinated. That is for passengers who are sailing five nights or less. If your cruise is more than 6 days, vaccinated individuals are still required to present a negative Covid test conducted up to three days before you set sail.
Royal Caribbean announced a similar policy last week which will be affective as of August 8th. They say unvaccinated passengers will still need to test before any cruise, regardless of length.
