The sequel to Todd Phillips' mega hit film 'Joker' now has a release date. The movie called 'Joker: Folie a Deux' will be in theaters on October 4th, 2024.
Reportedly a good portion of the film will be set inside Arkham Asylum, and since the title of the film, 'Folie a Deux,' means 'shared madness' in French, it sounds like the Joker makes a friend while inside.
Will a familiar DC villain make an appearance to share the madness with the Joker? My guess is the shared madness will be with Harley Quinn, rumored to be portrayed by Lady Gaga. What’s even more interesting is the sequel is supposed to be a musical!
It’s no surprise there's going to be a follow up movie, because ‘Joker’ was the first R-rated movie ever to earn a billion dollars worldwide. The film also received 12 Oscar nominations with the star, Joaquin Phoenix, winning his first Academy Award for playing the titular character.
Production on the movie is reportedly set to get underway in December.
