August 10th is National S’mores Day! S’mores are a delicious treat made with three basic ingredients, melted chocolate, toasted marshmallows, and graham crackers. The snack is a campfire classic!
The first official s’more recipe was published in the Girl Scout Handbook in 1927, but culinary historians think the dessert started much earlier. Over the years, the recipe traveled from camper to camper until it became the most popular fireside.
Today, get your friends together and have a bonfire (or maybe after you've used the grill and its still hot), roast marshmallows, and sing classic campfire songs to celebrate national S’mores day!
