A secret buyer is now the proud owner of a secret agent’s car! The "James Bond" car once owned by Bond actor Sean Connery was sold at auction last week for way over the estimate, raking in two-point-four-million dollars! The auction company Broad Arrow predicted it would make between one-point-four and one-point-eight-million dollars.Â
The silver 1964 Aston Martin DB5 was featured in the James Bond movies of the 1960s and was driven by Sean Connery when he portrayed secret agent 007. Â
Of course, in the films the cars had all sorts of spy gadgets including machine guns, tire-slashing hubcaps, an ejector seat and even a car phone which was virtually unheard of at the time. Â
This particular car which Connery purchased for himself in 2018 didn't come with all of those fun bells and whistles. If it did it would have sold for quite a bit more. One DB5 with all the gadgets that was used in a James Bond movie was sold for six-point-four-million in 2019.Â
