A secret buyer is now the proud owner of a secret agent’s car! The "James Bond" car once owned by Bond actor Sean Connery was sold at auction last week for way over the estimate, raking in two-point-four-million dollars! The auction company Broad Arrow predicted it would make between one-point-four and one-point-eight-million dollars.
The silver 1964 Aston Martin DB5 was featured in the James Bond movies of the 1960s and was driven by Sean Connery when he portrayed secret agent 007.
Of course, in the films the cars had all sorts of spy gadgets including machine guns, tire-slashing hubcaps, an ejector seat and even a car phone which was virtually unheard of at the time.
This particular car which Connery purchased for himself in 2018 didn't come with all of those fun bells and whistles. If it did it would have sold for quite a bit more. One DB5 with all the gadgets that was used in a James Bond movie was sold for six-point-four-million in 2019.
