Christina Applegate to Be Honored With Star on Hollywood Walk of Fame Today

Today, actress Christina Applegate will receive her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in the Television category. The star will be right across the street from the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel at 7007 Hollywood Boulevard.

She is a fighter who has battled so many health problems over the last several years. Christina is a breast cancer survivor and she discovered that she has the BRCA1 genetic mutation, a gene associated with an increased risk of breast cancer and ovarian cancer. Because of that she decided to go ahead and have a double mastectomy, and she then opted to have her ovaries and fallopian tubes removed as well.

Then, just after she started filming the final season of her Netflix series “Dead to Me” in the Spring of 2021, Christina announced that she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. Now because of her health issues, she says that role may be her last.

She said, “With my disease, I don’t know how capable I am. But this was a gift. This was a gift to me.” The actress added that she found out what she was “capable of doing” while filming the show saying, “It had to be cold, because heat is our kryptonite. Can’t work those 18-hour days, you know? It was impossible.”

The third and final season the Emmy nominated “Dead to Me” will land on the streamer on November 17.
