Community Comes Together to Cheer Local Wish Child and His Family

10-year-old Joey was referred to A Wish Come True to grant a Wish for him about a year ago. The organization had plans to grant his wish this past spring, but due to unforeseen family circumstances, his wish was put on hold.

Unfortunately, Joey’s wish will not happen. He is very sick and was sent home on hospice this past week.

A Wish Come True has given Christmas presents to all of his family members and has organized things to happen each day to try to lift the family’s spirits as much as that is possible.

Joey loves Blue from Blue's Clues and A Wish Come True was able to get Custom Costumes RI to donate their time to visit. The Invisible Heroes of Tomorrow came over to spend time with the entire family the other day to help Joey's sister and older brother.

A local barber donated his time to give Joey a haircut for professional family pictures which were taken by Gene Hutnak photography. And many Rhode Island restaurants have donated meals to the family during this difficult time.

Over the weekend, Santa and the Johnston and North Providence High School choirs sang Christmas carols outside their home.

The family will need support with funeral arrangements when the time comes. A GoFundMe page has been set up for the family if you'd like to help out.
