You may remember a while back there was a lot of talk about a Madonna biopic that the Material Girl was supposed to direct herself and she was co-writing the script.
Auditions were held for this movie about Madge’s life and reportedly they were grueling 11-hour choreography sessions with Madonna herself passing judgement on the young actresses who were in the running to play her. Among them were Florence Pugh, Odessa Young and Julia Garner, who eventually ended up landing the role.
Well now that biopic is no more, it’s been cancelled! News of the film’s cancellation came after Madonna announced her huge world tour, although from what I hear the decision was made before that was even announced so it’s unclear as to whether or not it had anything to do with it.
I feel bad for Julia Garner...all that Madonna boot camp and it was all for nothing!
