The director of the James Bond film Casino Royale Martin Campbell sat down for an interview with Express UK and said that we almost had Henry Cavill play the roll of James Bond.
Campbell said, “He looked great in the audition. His acting was tremendous. And look, if Daniel [Craig] didn’t exist, Henry would have made an excellent Bond. He looked terrific; he was in great physical shape … very handsome, very chiseled. He just looked a little young at that time back then.”
Ok that was way back in 2006. Henry has aged nicely and still looks fantastic. Now they’re looking for a new Bond again...lets revisit that audition and put him in that role this time. He’s not going to be playing The Witcher or Superman again so why not?
Well, Campbell implies that Cavill, who is now 40, may ironically be too old to play James Bond. He said, "Henry’s 40, so by the time he’s done the third one he’s going to be 50 and anything beyond that’s two, three years per Bond." Poor guy can't win! Who looks more the part than him?
