WORLD’S BIGGEST CRUISE SHIP IS READY TO SET SAIL

Royal Caribbean’s new ship isn’t just huge, it’s almost five times the size of the Titanic and will be the world’s largest cruise ship. The Icon of the Seas, will be ready to set sail starting January 2024 and it sounds pretty impressive.

  • The ship is 1,198 feet long and capable of carrying 76-hundred guests and 2,350 crew members.
  • It has 20 total decks, seven pools and what Royal Caribbean calls six “record-breaking” waterslides.
  • To compare, the Titanic, which was the largest ship in the world at the time, was just over 852 feet long when it sailed back in 1912.
  • The Icon of the Seas is divided into eight main areas:
  • The "AquaDome" on top of the front of the ship, which offers 220-degree views and a 55-foot waterfall.
  • The "Suite Neighborhood" with a Mediterranean restaurant and two-floor sundeck.
  • A five-deck-high open-air "Central Park" with living plant walls.
  • "Chill Island" with four pools and a swim-up bar.
  • "Thrill Island," featuring what the company says is the largest waterpark at sea, called "Category 6."
  • A dedicated family area called "Surfside."
  • The "Royal Promenade" with ocean views.
  • "The Hideaway," which has 180-degree views at the back of the ship and an infinity pool.

But to enjoy a cruise on this ship, it’s going to cost you. The cheapest ticket for an interior room on a seven-night cruise from Miami to the Western Caribbean in September is $1,851. And they go up to $10,864 for the same cruise in March.
